Getting 4× ROAS on Meta in 2025: what actually works

The account tricks that carried Meta advertisers for years are dead. What replaces them is less about targeting settings and more about creative and offer.

Getting 4× ROAS on Meta in 2025: what actually works

A few years ago you could win on Meta with clever targeting and a tidy account. Those days are over. Costs are up, signal is down after privacy changes, and audiences are so fragmented that hand picking interests now does more harm than good. The advertisers hitting 4x ROAS in 2025 are winning on different levers, and most of them sit outside the campaign settings.

Stop targeting, start letting the algorithm target

Meta's machine learning now understands your best customer faster and better than any interest stack you can build by hand. Broad targeting paired with Advantage+ consistently beats narrow, layered audiences, because it gives the system the room it needs to find buyers. Your job is no longer to guess who converts. It is to feed the algorithm strong signals and strong creative, then get out of its way.

Creative is the new targeting

If the algorithm handles who sees the ad, then what they see is where you win or lose. The highest performing accounts we run treat creative as a volume game. They test many concepts, not many tweaks of one concept. They hook attention in the first three seconds. They lean on native, user generated formats that do not look like ads. And they retire creative the moment fatigue shows up in the frequency and cost curves.

  • Ship a steady stream of genuinely different concepts, not five colours of the same button.
  • Win the first three seconds or lose the whole spend.
  • Favour raw, native, user generated looks over polished studio ads.
  • Watch frequency and cost per result, and kill tired creative early.

Simplify the account

Complex accounts starve the learning phase. Every extra campaign and ad set splits your conversions into pools too small for the algorithm to optimise. Consolidate. Fewer campaigns, broader targeting, and budget held at the campaign level give Meta the concentrated signal it needs to exit learning and stabilise. When in doubt, merge rather than split.

Do not trust in platform ROAS alone

Meta will always take as much credit as its attribution model allows, and after iOS changes that model guesses more than it used to. Judge performance on blended ROAS, which is total revenue divided by total ad spend across every channel, and sanity check it against what your bank account and your analytics actually show. When you want the real answer, run a holdout test and measure the lift, not the reported number.

The offer is the multiplier

No account structure saves a weak offer on a slow landing page. The fastest ROAS gains we see rarely come from the ad account at all. They come from sharpening the offer, matching the landing page message to the ad, and removing friction from the path to purchase. Fix that first, and the same spend suddenly works twice as hard.

Meta in 2025 rewards advertisers who give the algorithm room, treat creative as their real edge, keep the account simple, and measure honestly. Do those four things and 4x ROAS stops being luck and starts being a system.
